Architecture students studying the transformation of the industrial area in Molina de Segura-Murcia axis (25/07/2014)

Grade Students of Architecture San Antonio (UCAM) and Catholic University students and faculty of the schools of Architecture of Seville, Alicante, Valencia and Oran (Algeria) will participate from 28 July to 1 August in the fourth edition of the workshop ' architectural intervention strategies ', which this time is about' Recycling of industrial areas: an opportunity for the city.

The Molina de Segura-Murcia 'axis.

Participants will study the problem of industrial areas that have been absorbed by the urban fabric.

This workshop has the support of the City of Murcia, Molina de Segura and Puerto Lumbreras.

Students will study cases of transformation of industrial areas like Park Duisburg Nord in the IBA Emscher Park in Germany, Coin Street in London, Ile de Nantes in France, Borneo Sporenburg Masterplan in Amsterdam and La Mina neighborhood in Barcelona.

Then analyze the Molina de Segura-Murcia industrial hub and the third stage shall submit proposals for intervention to recover the space for the city, retaining the existing and transforming it into a mixed-use area.

The objective of this workshop is to transmit to society the need to leverage existing resources, implement a culture of recycling and reuse of urbanism buildings adapted to the needs demanded by the city.

This is the fourth edition of this course.

In previous years the belt between Lorca Puerto Lumbreras, edge linking Bolnuevo with Águilas and the old town of Puerto Lumbreras treated.
