The collaboration between the Department of Social Welfare and the Down Syndrome Foundation of Murcia will maintain the project Inclusive Leisure for Persons with Disabilities and its Psychic shared housing program

The purpose of the project Inclusive Leisure for Persons with Disabilities Psi is to promote knowledge and skills to the group of people with mental disabilities can enjoy the leisure autonomously.

It has an annual duration and is intended for young people with mental disabilities whose leisure experiences are limited, in order to achieve initiate, develop and maintain a satisfactory leisure in them.

Users of this program will be approximately 50, distributed by groups of no more than 10 people aged between 16 and 53, predominantly male.

The content of the project is divided into three modules that provide a broad view of all aspects of Entertainment.

Moreover, the School of Life Project: Shared Housing Program is based on the coexistence of people with intellectual disabilities and students from the University of Murcia, on equal terms, in order to implement a model of progressive training allows training for independent living for people with intellectual disabilities in all contexts in which they operate, ie, family, educational, occupational and relational.

The planned beneficiaries for housing and training modules for independent living is 14 persons with disabilities and seven students from the University of Murcia, as well as their families.

Participants with intellectual disabilities should have motivation and commitment to the initiative and support of their families.

On the other hand, must have a minimum level of autonomy and free of serious behavioral problems.

Regarding the profile of college students, called mediators, these students belonging to the branches of Education, Social Education, Social Work, Education, Psychology and Educational Psychology.

The program has a duration of four years.

Currently takes place in homes rented for a maximum integration environment and housing the Center for the Promotion of Personal Autonomy Fundown located in the hamlet head of Torres.
