The National Police arrested the owners of a junkyard for illegally employing illegal immigrants (18/07/2014)

In the inspection at the local recovered eight of these cars, which were used by immigrants working long hours

Agents of the National Police have arrested a company responsible for the collection and recovery of metal waste for alleged labor exploitation of undocumented migrants in Spain.

The investigation of these events began last June, when it was known that in a junkyard in the town of Bacons Bridge could be abusing the workforce of illegal immigrants.

Efforts practiced allowed agents to see how many foreign citizens working illegally using junkyard for cars loaded metal waste collected on public roads.

On inspection of the establishment was found that there were eight of these cars that were used to walk the streets looking for anything that could be sold as scrap.

All immigrants who performed this work were illegally lacked formal contract and were exploited, taking advantage of their precarious situation and the need to impose abusive labor conditions.

For this reason, between days 9, 10 and 11 July were arrested three people;

a man and a woman, 31 to 45 years old Spanish national as responsible for the junkyard;

and a citizen of Mali, undocumented worker.

Those responsible for the junkyard are charged with a crime against the rights of workers and aiding and abetting illegal immigration.

The operation was carried out by agents of the Provincial Immigration and Border Brigade of the Police Headquarters of Murcia and the Labour Inspectorate of Murcia.
