The University of Murcia gets 13 of the 17 projects of the "Young Leaders in Research" program Seneca Foundation (08/07/2014)

Thirteen projects led by professors from the University of Murcia have been selected in the call the program "Young Leaders in Research 2013", with the Seneca Foundation supports more than half a million euros to young researchers who lead projects and original research innovative in the Region of Murcia.

Of the 17 projects, 13 are from the University of Murcia, two at CEBAS-CSIC, one at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena and one on the San Antonio Catholic University.

The program, which aims to implement research lines of different scientific disciplines and the construction of new working groups, also seeks economic and social transfer of the results achieved, allowing these young researchers continue to develop its work in the region Murcia over the next two years.

To participate in the call, which was attended by about fifty papers, was required to be less than forty years old, have an experience of at least one and a half of an international reference center and have advanced a line of independent research .

Projects at the University of Murcia selected are:

-The aesthetic value and its interaction with other values ​​in the practice appreciative, Maria José Alcaraz León (Faculty of Philosophy)

Relatively homological algebra and its applications, Sergio Estrada Dominguez (Faculty of Mathematics)

Correction of presbyopia with a new intraocular lens based optical triplet, Enrique Fernández Martínez Josua (School of Optometry)

-Cultural tourism in the development of the historical heritage of Lorca: actors and strategies, Ramón García Marín (Faculty of Arts)

-Geometry of pseudo-Finsler metric, Michelangelo Javaloyes Victoria (Faculty of Mathematics)

-Development of cell and molecular 3D models as an alternative to conventional fertilization studies, Maria Jimenez Movilla (Faculty of Medicine)

-Development of models for the characterization of nanoparticles by electrochemical techniques, Eduardo Ochando Laborde (Department of Chemistry)

-Rhythms of reproduction in the Medaka fish: control of environmental factors on the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis and behavior of Fernando López José Olmeda (Faculty of Biology)

-Synergies and antagonisms between cellular signaling pathways for comprehensive search for new antifungal therapies, Maria Isabel Mateo Madrid (Faculty of Biology)

-Training in regional identity in social sciences from the intangible heritage.

-Batteries microbial fuel for wastewater treatment and carbon dioxide uptake with simultaneous bioenergy production using ionic liquids, nanomaterials and microalgae, Antonia Pérez de los Rios (Faculty of Chemistry)
