A doctoral thesis at the University of Murcia highlights the role of the family in the purchase of securities (07/07/2014)

The importance of the family as an agent of socialization and acquisition of values ​​is one of the conclusions of the doctoral thesis at the University of Murcia by María Trinidad Sánchez Pérez.

The thesis also stresses that this research has demonstrated the need to develop models of family interactions where trust relationships prevail.

To conduct the study, the author analyzed a sample of 51 inmates in juvenile rehabilitation centers, of which 49 were men and two women.

The results of observation were compared with experimental group, consisting of secondary school students, with a total of 112 males and 87 females.

Being male, with immigrant parents are significant for younger children placed sociodemographic factors, says the thesis.

These children, the findings also indicate, most often respond violently to provocation or threat situations and have mostly been arrested for theft or shoplifting.

On the other hand, indicated that the factors affecting the presence of negative attitudes are greater disregard for the views of both parents, the greater frequency of fights and arguments in the family home, being male, being admitted to a juvenile facility and have dropped out.

The dissertation was supervised by professors from the University of Murcia Aurelio and Maria Dolores Pérez Moon.
