Unemployment down nearly 9% in Murcia in the first half of 2014 (02/07/2014)

For the fifth consecutive month, unemployment in the municipality of Murcia has decreased, as shown by the data presented today by the Regional Employment and Training in the Region of Murcia, for the month of June.

The number of registered employment offices of the Region of Murcia unemployed fell last June, a 1.09 per cent to 137,412 people.

In the case of the municipality of Murcia, the decline in the number of unemployed was 1.8% compared to the previous month, reaching 41,312 unemployed.

Last June, 754 people left the unemployment rolls of the municipality, in addition to 17,783 contracts were made.

Of the 45,252 registered unemployed in January 2014 has been a figure of 41,312 in June, representing a decrease of 8.7% (3,940 people) so far this year.

The number of contracts recorded so far this year stands at 90,202, with the months of April (15,226), May (18,557) and June (17,783) the months with the highest rates of recruitment.

Compared to the same month last year (June 2013), the number of unemployed has also fallen, namely 7.76%, ie 3,479 fewer unemployed.

The Councillor for Employment, Trade and Business, José María Tortosa, positively valued these figures, despite recognizing that job creation takes place "in a more slowly than we would like everyone, but is a reality" and stressed the importance of turnaround occurred.

Finally, Councillor for Employment, Trade and Company wanted to assess once again the "impeccable work" being carried out from the center of Murcia Municipal Initiatives (CIM-M) and all service Jobs City of Murcia.
