Another step to improve the facilities of public schools in the municipality (02/07/2014)

Murcia City Council has taken another step to carry out works in more than a dozen public schools in the municipality.

The council has given approval to the award of maintenance and improvement in nine schools to be held during the summer months, with an expected investment of around 240,000 euros.

Schools that will benefit are: Our Lady of Atocha CEIP (Santiago and Zaraiche) CPEE The Boqueras (Santiago and Zaraiche), CEIP Torreteatines (El Raal), CEIP Nuestra Señora de La Paz (Murcia), CEIP San Pablo (Murcia) , CEIP Ramón Gaya (Bacons Bridge), CEIP Virgin Wonderland (Los Martínez del Puerto), CEIP Nicolás de las Peñas (Murcia) and CP José Moreno (Barrio del Progreso).

Also, already awarded the work centers in Los Rosales (El Palmar), Pérez Urruti (Churra), San Juan (Murcia), Maestro Enrique Laborde (Dolores), José María Párraga (El Palmar), Carolina Codorniu Bosch (Churra) Monteazahar (Beniaján), Holy Angel (Holy Angel), Our Lady of Fuensanta (Beniaján), Pablo Gil Castillo (Sangonera la Seca), San Jose de la Montana (Sangonera la Seca), Arteaga (Sucina) Mariano Aroca (Murcia), La Cruz (El Esparragal) and John XXIII (Monteagudo).

Among the works to be performed pavement replacement, repairs in the woodwork, fix cracks on walls, cleaning of downspouts and roofs, waterproofing work, exterior and interior painting, repairing steps, carpentry repair is metal, works on the network and sanitation, reform of the heating system, installation of non-slip strips on pavement and steps, fencing repairs, stormwater system improvement and repair coating walls and baseboards.

It will also carry out the works at the Our Lady of Bethlehem (James and Zaraiche) and Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente (Murcia) centers.

Work will begin soon in order to get everything ready in September to the beginning of the course.

The overall investment of 708,000 euros.

The Councillor for Education, Maria Dolores Sánchez, recalled that in addition to the works carried out in summer, all year working on the maintenance of schools and children's activities are scheduled with the objective of providing quality facilities with all services and support the training of students.
