The City sets record for energy savings figures (30/06/2014)

The City Record Breaking savings in annual electricity bill by replacing nearly a thousand new type LED luminaires.

Neighborhoods and green areas of the city have experienced a substantial change in the intensity and light quality of its streets, thanks to the work done by the Department of Urban Quality directing Ana Martínez Vidal.

Among the many jobs that Electromur concessionaire Public Lighting Company, has conducted include the following actions:

- Full Performance at the Santa Eulalia with the replacement of 389 points of light.

- Avenida de Europa with 244 points.

- Garden Abenarabi 40 new lights.

- Garden Fuensanta in the Barrio del Infante, with the installation of new pollution control streetlights.

- LED Projectors in the vicinity of the Church of San Antolin.

- Replacement Projector by other white light in the streets that make up the Triangle neighborhood.

- Environment Aurora Square.

- Streets Acisclus Santiago Diaz and steps, as well as new vial Powder.

- Lepanto Streets, Jerome de Roda, San Antonio Portillo.

- Greco Street.

- Environment Santa Rita Street in the neighborhood of Fame and street Human Rights.

These areas also have been on some of the points of light that were previously off for energy savings, which together with the change in LED lighting, has meant greater visual comfort and has contributed to a greater sense of public safety

These and other actions have led to the City Council a 67.89% reduction of the electricity bill, q translates into a cost savings of 64,859.14 per year, as of 220,28 tonnes of CO2 emissions to the atmosphere .
