6,000 children participate in 95 summer schools that are taking place in public schools (30/06/2014)

About 6,000 children participate in 95 summer schools that are developing during June and July in 66 public schools in the municipality.

Summer schools are organized by the AMPAS schools, the Department of Social Welfare, Social Services (Children Project Activities and Caixa Proinfancia-PAI program), Department of Culture and the Neighborhood Association Bacons Bridge.

The Councillor for Education, Maria Dolores Sánchez, visited this morning summer school CEIP Santa María de Gracia promoted by the AMPAS that center and schools and Nicolas Caballero Manuel Fernández de las Peñas.

Younger made sports and leisure activities, craft workshops, water features and views.

Education contributes to the transfer of the centers, facilitates the use of schools located in the same area for the AMPAS and other groups to organize and plan activities together, using schools on a rotating basis and getting value for money (cleaning, monitoring, etc.).

Moreover, social relationships between children in the same age from different schools are encouraged, increasing the involvement of children promoting the business more profitable and offer alternatives if a school is under construction.

With this system to share facilities open 29 centers saves.

The 95 summer schools held in 66 public schools are:

-59 Summer schools organized by AMPAS in 35 centers.

-35 Summer schools organized by municipal services in 34 centers (30 of Social Services, Social Welfare 1 Cultural Centres and 4).

-1 Summer school in which 7 schools organized by the Association of Residents participate Bacons Bridge.
