Workers, parents and students of the Initial Vocational Training Program collected signatures calling not disappear (27/06/2014)

Workers, parents and students of the Initial Vocational Training Program (PCPI) have carried out this morning a petition to prevent these programs disappear and have informed the public about the importance of keeping them, as they will leave without training many young people at risk of social exclusion.

Thus, this morning, there was the second concentration, at the door of the Ministry of Education in the Walk of Fame.

These concentrations will be repeated every Friday during the month of July.

In addition, workers have opened a petition on Change.org to anyone who wants to sign against the closure of these programs.

Murcia City Council has been developing the Initial Professional Qualification Programmes, aimed at students between 15 and 20 years old and in total 203 groups have been created in different programs, with 2,817 students and more than 300 companies in the municipality 19 years working actively in the programs.

These Initial Vocational Training programs each year receive the application form for 160 students, so deleting them would mean the loss of training to a large number of unskilled young people, in addition to the loss of jobs, specifically 16 positions (seven teachers basic training workshops and 9 teachers).
