The Institute of Tourism promotes four cultural tourism routes in the city of Murcia (20/06/2014)

The director general of the Tourism Institute, Mariola Martinez, attended today's presentation of the booklet 'Murcia Open Museum, an initiative that includes cultural tourism routes through some of the monuments and sculptures of the city of Murcia and surroundings.

The event took place in the Garden of Floridablanca and was attended by councilors of Culture and Tourism of Murcia, Rafael Gomez and Miguel Cascales, respectively, and the creators of the project, Fernando Segura and Nacho Ruiz.

The initiative was made possible thanks to the collaboration of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Murcia and the Institute of Tourism and aims to raise awareness of the rich artistic heritage of the city divided into squares, streets, avenues and roundabouts.

The brochure will be distributed in hotels, tourist offices and cultural centers, including a total of four routes: 'La Ribera del Segura', 'Murcianeando', 'The Square Plaza' and 'On Wheels' and 36 pieces and sculptural ensembles located inside and around the city.

The publication sets out in detail the four itineraries guided performed at no charge, twice a month throughout the year.

The first of these guided tours 'Murcianeando' will take place on Saturday, June 28, at 11:00 am, and will depart from the Monument to the Count of Floridablanca, in the garden of the same name.

To participate is not necessary to register.

It has also created a blog that hosts the content and that will hang pictures and texts of strollers (MurciaMuseoAbierto.blogspot.es) and a Facebook profile (Murcia Open Museum) and Twitter (@ murciamuseoabie) to provide information and call visits.
