'Holidays in Peace' is an initiative to foster care that has been developing since 1996. The Saharawi children come from refugee camps in Tindouf (Algeria), and the goal is to spend the summer with families, living together as a Member more, away from the harsh conditions of the camps where they live in the desert, reaching temperatures above 50 degrees.

The city of Murcia has been contributing for years with the Saharawi people through the financing of cooperation projects.

Specifically, it has worked with more than 30 projects amounting to almost 600,000 euros.

Most of these actions relate to education, social services, health, humanitarian and infrastructure level.

In recent years, aid has a unique way for the construction and maintenance of wells and Holidays in Peace program for children.

The objectives of this project are:

- Zoom to under harsh living conditions in refugee camps during the summer (high temperatures, lack of water, food and medicine).

- Provide the opportunity to enjoy and live for two months on a different voltage derived from the permanent situation of refuge to which they are subjected atmosphere.

- Make it easy during your stay, as far as possible, overcoming the shortcomings of health and power with which they arrive.

- Enrich your knowledge of Spanish, which is the second official language of the town where they live.

- Let them know about the way of life in a developed country.

- Invite them to live and learn learning realities in books like the sea, the mountains, etc..

- Making your stay with us to publicize the situation of extreme precariousness in which families and the Sahrawi people generally live.

- Enhancing mutual understanding and strengthen the traditional and historical friendship between the Saharawi people and the Spanish people.

- Maintain and strengthen cultural ties between the two peoples.
