Users Occupational Center El Palmar celebrate the week 'Theatre Special' (05/06/2014)

The Ministry of Health and Social Policy has 1,133 residential and 2,204 places in day centers

The CEO of Persons with Disabilities of Murcia Institute of Social Action (IMAS), John Brown today participated in the week 'Special Theatre' who celebrate with various activities users Occupational Center of the hamlet of El Palmar, Murcia, and now in its third edition.

This initiative aims to contribute to the personal development of people with disabilities to promote their self-confidence and help them improve their quality of life and social relationships through group activities that facilitate interaction and communication.

Brown praised this activity "helps develop the skills and abilities of persons with disabilities breaking his usual routine and encouraging sensory stimulation."

Currently, the center has 90 places for people with disabilities and it's an occupational area to provide rehabilitation treatment, social services and medical care.

It also has a complementary area serviced residence and psychology, among others.

The CEO stressed the commitment of the regional government to continue consolidating network services are provided to people with disabilities and their families to support them and provide a comprehensive, individualized care tailored to their needs.

Brown explained that the IMAS spends more than 3.5 million euros to keep the center of public ownership, and recalled that Murcia's 1,133 residential places, 2,204 in day centers and sheltered housing for 105 people with disabilities.
