Mayor House presents 'Agriculture Monument' which exalt the efforts and dedication of the professionals of the garden and countryside (30/05/2014)

The project has the support of six major agricultural professional and business organizations: Asaja, Coag, Upa, Proexport, Fecoam and Apoexpa.

The work is a sculpture, signed by Flyppy, depicting a farmer exporting to the world the various products that are grown in our region.

A tribute to the hard work, solidarity and dedication of generations of Murcia.

The Mayor, Miguel Angel House, next to the president of the Central Union of Irrigation Tajo-Segura, Francisco del Amor, representing the agricultural sector, and Juan Antonio Campillo Paredes, Regional Director of BMN-CajaMurcia Levante, this morning presented the model New Agriculture Monument, a splendid work signed by Flyppy (sculptors Ismael Ramirez and Javier Cerezo Borgoñós Masso) whose forms, made of steel and glass, reminiscent of a farmer exported to the world all the agricultural products of the region.

With them, the design for the memorial has been developed by the painter and poster artist Alberto Sevilla.

The idea to honor Murcia farmers left the group a few months of review Spectators, who managed numerous accessions to the project and the support of the Regional Assembly through an official statement signed by all three political groups makes.

Mayor House explained that the City of Murcia joined this initiative to distinguish and praise to many generations of farmers, for his impulse to society and the economy of the Region of Murcia, his dedication to the maintenance of their families and and ongoing effort to land delivery, the constant struggle for water or concerns about inclement weather that can spoil the work of a whole year and price uncertainty perceive to market swings.

The mayor also pointed out that Murcia is an agricultural region that has managed to boost their crops and implement new technologies and exquisite use of water to achieve high quality products, competitive, profitable and environmentally friendly.

Therefore, he concluded Camera is fair to recognize its real heroes and the contribution they have made in creating jobs and wealth in the region.

Sector support

The project has the support of leading agricultural institutions in the region, among which are the Association of Producers and Exporters of Fruit and Agricultural Products (Apoexpa), the Agrarian Association of Young Farmers (Asaja), the Coordinator of Organizations of Farmers and Ranchers (COAG), the Federation of Agricultural Cooperatives of Murcia (Fecoam), the Association of Producers and Exporters of Fruits, Vegetables in the Region of Murcia (Proexport) and the Union of Small Farmers (UPA) and BMN-Cajamurcia

For the location of the new sculpture, which will be inaugurated on June 12, has been elected a privileged environment: Díez de Revenga, one of the main entrances to the city of Murcia plaza.

The work, whose dimensions are 6 meters high, symbolize the recognition of all Murcia their farmers and has been paid for in full by BMN Cajamurcia and agricultural organizations.

Renowned authors

Ismael is formed Flyppy Cherry (Murcia, 1967) and Borgoñós Javier (Murcia, 1968).

Ismael met the Mallorcan glass through Pere Ignasi, when I had a long experience with iron.

In Palma de Mallorca this happen to two years -1992 and 1993 - in his workshop in S'Hostalot, where they began to mix in joint iron and glass creations.

On his return to Murcia, Ismael opened workshop and continued to work with glass.

Since 1997 is joined by Javier Borgoñós coming from artistic endeavors such as photography (University of Murcia) and film (La Havana, Cuba) for further development and between the animal facility that has become so characteristic.

The pieces signed by Flyppy give us the vision of working with a professional glass concept, custom made, with creative independence but subject to market.

In these works, the presence of the glass material prevails over any other reading or interpretation.
