The House approved the award of the Gold Medal of the City Bar Association (29/05/2014)

The House of the Corporation has approved this morning granting the Gold Medal of the City Bar Association I illustrate Murcia for its 175th anniversary.

House has said that the relationship of the College with the city of Murcia has been constant, and "it was necessary to recognize the important work being done this century-old institution, which has developed a large and important city services."

On July 2, 1838 the collegiate body of lawyers after consulting with the Regency of the Territorial Court of Albacete was created.

Since then, they have regulated the profession to ensure the defense and legal assistance to citizens, collaborate with government in the development of justice and to ensure the free exercise of the profession, among others.

On July 2, 1838, Victor Vergara and chaired Mońino acts of the collegiate body constitution and became the first dean of the College.

The first seat of the Colegio de Abogados de Murcia started in 1877, in the house No. 2 San Antonio Street and the rent amounted to 1,500 pesetas, paid by the city council.

On January 2, 1883, the College moved to the premises of the new Criminal Hearings, which placed his judicial seat in the Palace Almudí.

From there, the college moved headquarters in 1975 to the new Courthouse located at Ronda de Garay of Murcia city, which already had a greater availability of spaces and services.

The College remained at the fifth floor of the courthouse until 1994, in which the offices were moved to new headquarters in Calle la Gloria where it is today.

Is this a full five-storey building, opened as Dean Manuel Martínez Ripoll.
