The Collective "The silly hand" has proven winner XIV Photography Prize Fine Arts at the University of Murcia, for his work entitled "Resilience".
The prize of 1200 euros, is sponsored by El Corte Inglés SA
"The hand stolen" is a creative collective that emerged three years ago within the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Murcia, and is formed by five students of this center: Judit Minguez, Laura Mayol, Juan Ignacio Rico, Marta López Worship and Martinez.
"Our work is mainly based on studio photography, but also experience with video, installation and new technologies. So far we have covered topics such as the weight of tradition, politics, religion, social icons and great body , along with other more banal and more aesthetic content ", said its members.
The jury awarded honorable mentions works Trigas Alfonso Rodríguez (Cerdanyola, Barcelona);
Marta López Marín (Murcia) and Roque López Morelo (Murcia).
This edition has had the participation of 68 photographers who have contributed 234 works.
The 62 works selected by the jury, including honorable mentions, will be exhibited at the English Court Shot Mall (Espinardo, Murcia), next September.
The decision took place on Wednesday, May 21 at the premises of the Campus Culture Service of Merced.
The jury, chaired by the Rector José Orihuela, has led Enrique Martínez vocal Bueso, Photographer's Journal The Truth;
Avelino Merono Marin, Art Collector;
M ª Angeles Sánchez Rigal, Director of the Art Gallery Art-9, and Ignacio Lopez Moreno and Borja Morgado Aguirre, professors of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Murcia.
He served as secretary of the jury Carmen Veas Arteseros, head of Cultural Activities.
