The Mayor celebrates with users of day centers cultural week (19/05/2014)

Users centers have day stays busy Town Hall this morning Plenary Hall, where the Mayor, Miguel Angel House, has offered a reception to mark the start of their Cultural Week.

Along with the consumer and family, also attended the ceremony were the Mayor, Miguel Angel House, accompanied by the mayors of Social Welfare and Health, María del Carmen Pelegrin.

This is the first activity performed within a program which runs until next Thursday.

During these days, the biggest Casino made a guided tour and enjoy a lunch-meeting with the participation of members, families and professionals of the three centers.

Also on Tuesday will be devoted to developing a workshop gardening (center of Barriomar), painting (Cabeza de Torres) and "Meet Africa" ​​(Beniaján).

The City opened in May 2001, the first such facilities in Barriomar, which later would add two more in Beniaján-in May 2005 - and Cabeza de Torres in 2007 -.

, With a total capacity of 100 seats.

In these centers, the elderly, affected by different degrees of dependence, have health services and have their basic, therapeutic and socio personal needs, promoting their independence and remain in their usual environment, since they receive day care and evening turn to their homes.

Users of the center are people over 60 who are in situations of physical and / or moderate mental and have insufficient family and social support.

These are people who live with their own families, which are an important support in this social resource.

The care provided is individualized and comprehensive: it focuses on every facet in which a dependent elderly person can find defects: personal care, food, health care, rehabilitation, social integration and psychological support.

This service has a very important person for most preventive and rehabilitative component, while constituting a care and support to discharge their caregivers.

It also provides food and nutrition services, transportation, bathing, medical, psychological, therapeutic, physical therapy, social care and family support and intervention.

The activities carried out are:

- Cultural activities at historic sites

- Open Days

- Celebrations of significant dates: Father's Day, Mardi Gras, Bando Orchard

- Celebration of the cultural week

- Workshops:

- Independence in money management

- Seasonal decoration

- Preparation of periodic

- Kitchen
