Fundown receive 59,500 euros to improve the quality of life for people with intellectual disabilities (13/05/2014)

Gmp has given 39,500 euros raised in the V International Festival of Magic Grand Illusions, who has joined the 20,000 euros UCAM more

The Campus of the Catholic University of Murcia has welcomed this morning the ceremony by the Gmp Foundation Fundown 39,500 euros, collected by holding the V edition of the International Festival of Magic 'Grand Illusions', organized by the own Foundation.

In addition, during its development, the president of the UCAM, José Luis Mendoza, also wanted to collaborate with Fundown, and has been delivered another 20,000 euros.

Proceeds from the Festival will go towards the project 'Aging-quality 60 people with intellectual disabilities' which is working Fundown, and that will support the implementation of resources and actions to prevent premature deterioration and promote everyday well-being of person, so that you can grow old with a higher quality of life.

President Fundown, Diego Gonzalez, who received the news with joy, said it will allocate the funds to help improve the quality of life of people with disabilities.

The ceremony involved the Vice Gmp Foundation, Antonio Montoro;

the second Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Health and Social Welfare of the City of Murcia, María del Carmen Pelegrin;

Diego González, and the president of the UCAM, José Luis Mendoza, who expressed his satisfaction and support initiatives like those developed by Gmp, and the various associations and institutions that collaborate to improve the lives of people with disabilities.

Furthermore, in relation to the donation he made to Fundown, Mendoza said that "we are stewards of what God puts in our hands, and from the UCAM do something good for society distributing to the needy what God gives us" .

María del Carmen Pelegrin, highlighted the generous character of "Murcia town" and the great work done in the region by associations, institutions, and the Catholic University itself, for the benefit of the sectors that need it most.

Meanwhile, Montoro thanked the cooperation "of all who make this Festival", and highlighted the important work done by Gmp that "has improved the lives of more than two thousand people in the city of Murcia."

Capacitas

The San Antonio Catholic University of Murcia being developed by the Gmp Foundation, Capacitas program that allows young people with intellectual disabilities studying at UCAM.

Note that this program is part of the initiatives undertaken by the Chair 'Montoro German for the social inclusion of people with intellectual disabilities. "

Great magicians

The fifth edition of this festival, organized by the Gmp Foundation, took place on 14 and 15 March at the Teatro Circo Murcia, and was the joint participation of the leading magicians of the moment, the likes of American Mike Caveney, Tina Lenert Venezuelan, Argentine Daniel Garber and Adrian Conde, the Electra Brazilian, Portuguese or Spanish Carletto Charlie Raúl Alegría, Mago Vituco Paul Canovas, Naife, Jaque, or MagoMigue double world champion.

The festival also featured the collaboration of world champion beatbox, Grison, juggler Miguel Rubio and Pedro Reyes and humorists Mr. Corrales
