Researchers at the Department of Electronics and Electromagnetism, University of Murcia Leandro Navas and Aurelio Arenas Victoria Dalla-Vecchia were runners of Sacyr Innovation Awards.
Teachers Murcia institution finalists in the Technology and Environmental Innovation category for the work "sound absorbing screens for application to road and rail paths."
The project consists of a new type of acoustic insulation screen, with applications in different transportation routes, mainly roads or paths station.
The screen consists of a support made of terpolymers and, it incorporates an artificial plant cover that mimics the grass or any other plant.
This vegetation cover, high performance, increases the absorption coefficient and acoustic isolation from other existing screens, in addition to improving the appearance of the screen and make it compatible with the natural environment scenically.
For the builder Sacyr awards, which were presented in Madrid with the assistance of the Secretary of State for Research, Carmen Vela, were presented nearly a hundred projects.
