Students of Vocational Training Program of the City exhibit their works (06/05/2014)

The Vocational Training Program of the City of Murcia, held today and tomorrow about Open Days and sample work by students in the Center for Training and Employment Initiatives of the Department of Employment, Trade and Enterprise, is in Palmar in Mercamurcia crossing.

Some 124 young people attending a Programme of Initial Professional Qualification (PCPI) in the fields of plumbing, HVAC, electrical-power grids, weld-metal construction, automotive, commercial, kitchen, hairdressing and beauty will demonstrate practices that are developing along the course, which will end next June with work placements in companies in the municipality of Murcia.

The Councillor for Employment, José María Tortosa Martinez, visited the exhibition, which this year celebrates its fifth edition, together with the municipality of Murcia entrepreneurs who come to work in the practice of students in the program and with which the City has signed cooperation agreements.

Assistance and policy makers also experts from the Directorate General of Vocational Training is expected, since the program has been funded by the Autonomous Region with 440,000 euros.

The Initial Vocational Training programs are aimed at young people aged 16 to 20 who leave school to untitled Secondary Education and are intended to provide a basic and professional training to help them re-enter the educational system, while deriving Vocational Qualifications Level I, on the professional profile in which they are formed.

Families of students in the program and anyone interested in learning about the work being done under the PCPI can visit, on May 7, workshops and facilities of one of the training centers that the city of Murcia is in the town.

The exhibition will be open from 10 am to 12 am and from 18 to 20 hours.
