Environment begins to change the aesthetic appearance of some parks and gardens of the village with the use of barren volcanic rock (05/05/2014)

The Department of Environment, directed Adela Martinez-Cache, still working for the parks and gardens of the city of Murcia are in perfect condition and offer, in turn, aesthetically pleasing and appropriate for the environment.

Accustomed to seeing the albero yellow in some of the parks and gardens of the city of Murcia, the council wanted to change the aesthetic appearance of these and has begun to use the red surface of some arid areas of parks and gardens.

Red arid, which has begun to be used in one of the parks in the neighborhood of St. James, has a high capacity to absorb water so it is widely used in gardens around trees and plants as it keeps the moisture in these and reduces the need for irrigation and prolongs life.

This red aggregate is also cheaper and more sustainable than hard pavement, and also provides a more attractive and interesting landscape.

In the coming months, the council directed Martinez-Cache will continue to incorporate this type of volcanic rock in other parks and gardens in the municipality of Murcia.
