Photographs 1939-1965 'will open a month] | The high demand and interest from the public has led to the expansion of the sample until May 25 |

The Cajamurcia and the city of Murcia Foundation have extended the opening date of the exhibition Juan Lopez, 100 years.

Photographs 1939-1965, at the Las Claras Cajamurcia Cultural Centre until Sunday 25 May.

The great public interest in this exhibition, which opened on February 21 and was scheduled to close on April 30, has motivated you to stay almost a month open to the public.

The organization has decided to extend the exhibition of this montage, which in two months has received about 14,000 hits, due to the great interest aroused and the large number of people who continue to come to the showroom in recent weeks.

Organized by the city of Murcia and Cajamurcia Foundation, in collaboration with the Municipal Archives and Truth, this exhibition brings to light about 120 photographs of Juan López (1914-1985), selected from the 200,000 negatives of this photographer preserved in the Municipal Archives.

The pictures on show provide insight into the postwar Murcia and the years immediately following: customs, urban growth, its festivals, its people ...

The exhibition was held when 100 years of his birth are met and as a tribute to Juan Lopez, considered a precursor of photojournalism in Murcia and one of the best photojournalists in the history of photography in the region.
