The UCAM invested last year more than 7 million in research (22/03/2014)

The UCAM submit their research projects to the evaluation of the National Evaluation and Foresight Agency (ANEP) and evaluating research productivity of its faculty to CNEAI

The Catholic University of Murcia has chosen from the beginning not only quality education, but it has settled on a solid research base.

The strong commitment of service to the institution Murcia society is reflected in the growing research activity generating and Transferred to enterprises, contributing thus to the development of socio-economic environment.

The UCAM invested during the past year 2012-2013 a total of 7,183,973 euros in research, including this one, spending on infrastructure and personnel costs.

Attracting talent

Research groups

Another field of action research in which it has invested and continues to invest, the Catholic University of Murcia, is to support the creation and consolidation of research groups.

An example of the commitment of the UCAM by research is the continuous acquisition of scientific and technical equipment as well as expanding its facilities geared to practical work of their students and the development of R + D + i.

Notable laboratory robotics, biomechanics, Roads and food; classrooms physiotherapy dissection simulation and hospital microscopes, or professional radio and television studios.

In addition, the UCAM acquired last year scanning electron microscope (VP Compact Merlin), a fact that places the institution as an international-level research in various fields.

Supporting mobility

The UCAM also funds within its Research Plan to attend national and international conferences and visits of researchers at other universities or research organizations.

Proof of this is the research conducted by Professor Department of Computer Engineering, José María Cecilia Canales, during his stay at the University of Illinois (USA) where he worked with the renowned Professor Wen-Mei Hwu.
