The Guardia Civil of the Region of Murcia, under the 'Plan against theft on farms and livestock', has carried out an inspection at a point peddling fruits and vegetables in the capital, where they have seized more four tons of these products allegedly illegal proceeds.

Last January, the Meritorious detected the existence of a point where peddling large quantities of fruit and vegetables were marketed and lacked the required municipal approval, so a monitoring device to detect and prosecute established distribution of farm products that could have been stolen.

Once they obtained the necessary evidence, civil guards specializing in public safety prevention inspectors coordinated with the Department of Markets, Consumption and Decentralization Murcia City Council to inspect the market, located in the village of Murcia Sangonera la Seca.

During inspection, agents found a dozen violations for lack of documentation proving the legal origin of the products offered to the consumer, so ten minutes of complaint arose very serious violation of municipal ordinance regulating street vending in the municipality of Murcia, under the concept of trade commodities without proper justification of its origin, some administrative offenses that are punishable by a fine of 1,500 euros to 3,000 euros and revocation of municipal authorization to engage in street vending.

Also, the inspectors of the City of Murcia instructed ten minutes of complaint for lack of the requisite license to develop peddling.

The products allegedly illegal proceeds were 4,068 kilos of mandarin, orange, lemon, potato, cabbage, cauliflower, peas, onion, garlic, tomato, lettuce, avocado and banana, which have been seized and placed in facilities of the City of Murcia .

Finally, after not prove their lawful owners provenance and verify their suitability for human consumption, the products seized were donated to charity.
