The Mayor presents awards granted to individuals for their outstanding work on behalf of a "Murcia equal" (06/03/2014)

Two of these awards have gone to the president from the center of La Alberca woman, recently deceased, and three members of Assido.

The college Luis Costa, Equality in Sport Award, and students of the School of Art, authors of the exhibition "Woman was and am Woman" were also awarded.

The official ceremony takes place on the occasion of the commemoration of International Women's Day.

The public school Luis Costa, the former president of the women's center of La Alberca, M ª Carmen Mengual, recently deceased, three young of ASSIDO association, and students of the art school, are now recognized with awards and accolades "Murcia on Equality ", granted by the City.

The Mayor, Miguel Angel House, accompanied by the Councillor for Equality Policy and Development Cooperation, Alicia Barquero, and the Director General for Social Policy, Leopoldo Navarro, has delivered this morning these distinctions, with which people recognize who have excelled in the municipality of Murcia for their work in building awareness and equality between women and men.

The event was held on the occasion of the commemoration of International Women's Day, which this time is being held under the motto "365 Days for Equality".

ART SCHOOL STUDENT AWARDS 2014

The exhibition opened today at the Centro Cultural del Barrio El Carmen, is the result of an educational project that has been running since 2002 under the collaboration between the Department of Political Equality and Development Cooperation and the School of Art Murcia .

The work was carried out by students of the training cycle illustration top grade, under the theme "Women and Women was I am."

Have been awarded the following prizes:

1st: Juan Diego Gonzálvez Left

2nd Prize: Daniel Cabrera Castro

3rd Prize: Elizabeth Benito Mendoza and Isabel Hernández Guillén

and certificate of recognition to teachers Pedro Luis Ayala Muñoz García Martí and Helena.

EQUALITY IN SPORT AWARDS

This award aims to promote the value of competition among female students and facilitate the effective exercise of the principle of equality of opportunity and treatment in sports.

It has been given to the association Luis Costa, in which 79% of girls enrolled participated in the School Sport program during 2012-13.

In addition to the award and the diploma, Cajamar sponsors this award with the delivery of sports equipment to the school.

Reward "MURCIA IN EQUALITY"

Murcia City Council recognizes this award to M ª Carmen Serrano Mengual and three members of the association ASSIDO: María José Paredes Egea, Carmen Morales and Ana María López Martínez Bravo.

At first, he was awarded the posthumous recognition for their hard work developed over the 8 years he was in front of the women's center in La Alberca (2006-2014), who devoted himself selflessly and where he worked for the promotion of women and achieving gender equality.

Furthermore, the award "Murcia in 2014 Equality" also recognizes the work and good work of three members of ASSIDO (María José Paredes Egea, Carmen Morales and Ana María López Martínez Bravo) for his achievement and effort to break down barriers in their condition of women with diverse disabilities.

All three share home and have a job.
