The City continues with workshops for parents to learn early intervention and prevention of health with their babies (05/03/2014)

The City Council has conducted a new round of workshops early care and health prevention for parents and their babies in the Women's Centers of Barrio del Carmen, Santa María de Gracia-San Antonio and Corvera.

In each of these free courses, which end today, have involved 15 parents and their babies.

Councilmember Equality Policy and Development Cooperation, Alicia Barquero, closed this morning the workshop of Santa Maria de Gracia.

The purpose of this activity is to provide parents or primary caregivers of children between 0 and 6 years of a space where they can train in aspects of parenting, evolutionary development and education of their children.

Likewise, they can raise questions and concerns, actively participating in stimulating the development of children.

Guidelines for non-sexist education are also offered.

A parents attend sessions with the children, and is taught by psychologists in early intervention specialists and professionals in the field of health, social services and gender equality.

Workshops organized by the Department of Equality Policies are developed in collaboration with the Department of Social and Health Services.

In the last year more than 50 people participated in the Cultural Center Corvera, Center for Women and Center Vistabella Women's Nora.
