Municipal buildings of the Square, the City Hall Annex and the Plaza de Europa and energy have been analyzed under the program on Energy Certification of Municipal Buildings set for the period 2013-2015 by the Department of Environment and coordinated by the Local Agency for Energy and Climate Change Murcia.
This work responds to the publication of Royal Decree 235/2013 last year, which requires municipal buildings over 500 sq meters and number of visitors to have your energy certificate and display your energy efficiency label.
The energy label of the building at the same rate as rated by a letter, ranging from "A", which represents the most efficient behavior on the scale of energy consumption and CO2 emissions, to the "G" which is the worst rating possible.
Grades earned are "C" for the City Hall Annex building and the building of the Plaza Europa and "D" for Glorieta, nineteenth century building that has experienced numerous renovations.
Energy certification complements the many actions already being conducted in these buildings since 2012 on energy saving through the use of new technologies within the project of the European Commission-SmartSpaces Intelligent Buildings.
In addition to the labeling of these buildings, started a new campaign to raise awareness of all the users of the buildings, which among other things, establish a system of stickers and notices that recall the best energy saving practices at the point of consumption.
The campaign is aimed at city workers and visitors to municipal buildings.
Murcia coordinates the Working Group on Energy of the Spanish Network of Smart Cities (RECI), is a member of Eurocities, promoter of the Digital Green Card, plus currently involved in pioneering projects in this field, as SmartCities project partnership national energy agency (EnerAgen) and said SmartSpaces project about smart public buildings.
