Students in the School of Art painting gender equality (21/02/2014)

Another year students of the School of Art and Design in Murcia collaborate with the Department of Political Equality and Development Cooperation in celebration of International Women's Day, 8 March.

On this occasion, students training cycle illustration Higher Grade, coordinated by Professors Peter Marti and Helena Ayala Luis García Muñoz, have been responsible for his works represent equality between men and women.

The four best entries will be rewarded with books, granting a first prize, second prize and two third.

The jury, chaired by Councilman Equality Policy and Development Cooperation, Alicia Barquero, and formed by the center's director, Julio Sanchez, Pedro Luis Ayala teachers Marti and Helena García Muñoz, and the City of Murcia technical Lola Balsas , met yesterday.

In this event were presented 17 students with 22 works.

The work will be part of the exhibition 'Woman woman was and am', which opens on March 6, at 11 pm in the Municipal Center of El Carmen.

Will be open from 6 to 21 March at 10-14 hours and 17-20 hours.

The School of Art is collaborating with the Department of Women's Hall of Murcia since 2002.

This campaign aims to inform, educate and sensitize the students of the School of gender equality and the prevention and eradication of violence against women through the implementation of practical work on a subject matter of their curriculum.

The awards ceremony will be held on March 6 at the Hall of City Hall.
