The figure of outstanding architect Justo Milan, analyzed at the Museum of the City (19/02/2014)

The figure of the architect Justo Millán will be exposed to the audience part of the "emotional Semblanzas" offering a personal, non-formal, on the biographies of prominent people in the arts and culture of Murcia.

This time is Beautiful Isabel García who analyzes the personality and Justo Millán Espinosa, born in Hellin (Albacete) on May 29, 1843.

At twenty years old he traveled to Madrid, where he began studying architecture.

It will be in 1879 when it starts to work for the Diocese of Cartagena, with projects such as the repair of the church of San Juan Bautista de Murcia, the repair of the church of Aledo and the church of San Pedro de Murcia, between many other things.

In 1880 he claimed the city of Murcia for the reconstruction of the Teatro Romea, who suffered a spectacular fire and in which he is credited as "Outstanding architect".

By 1886, Justo Millán is considered one of the most distinguished architects of eclecticism and Murcia City Murcia entrusts major projects such as the construction of the Plaza de Toros (1886-1887), Villar Circus Theater and the rebuilding of the second Teatro Romea, among many other works.

The bullring stands in 11 months, this is the second place that designs and directs the architect and the first monumental Hellin being built in Spain.
