The University of Murcia Anse work with the conservation of endangered species of the Mar Menor (19/02/2014)

The University of Murcia has signed a collaboration agreement with the Association of Southeast Naturalist (anse) for the development of research projects and conservation of endangered species of the marine environment of the region.

The text has been entered into the building of convalescence by the rector of the University, José Antonio Cobacho and Anse president, Vicente Hernández, during a ceremony in which participated also the initiator of the agreement, the rector of University Extension and eGovernment, Mercedes Farias, and the director of the educational institution Aquarium, Emilio Cortés.

The latter explained that the agreement is focused on the preservation of endangered species of the Mar Menor lagoon, as the seahorse, but also is open to other research projects.

Anse president, meanwhile, stressed that the Convention converge three strands that have marked the history of the Association in its 40 years of existence: conservation, outreach and research.

Finally, the rector Farias, who has praised the educational work (school visits and more than 20,000 people in the last year) and researcher at the Aquarium, said that the final beneficiary of this collaboration is the environment.
