The Portuguese cinema award at the 2014 IBAFF (13/02/2014)

From 3 to 9 March Murcia becomes international film capital, on the fifth anniversary of the International Film Festival-IBAFF-Murcia, which is committed to the promotion and dissemination of film culture.

France, Spain, the Philippines, United States, Argentina, Portugal, Brazil, Colombia, Italy, Cuba, Chile, Belgium, Serbia, Romania: For a week more than 60 works, including short films, feature films and documentaries from 13 countries will be screened , Macedonia and Costa Rica.

The works selected for this edition will be distinguished by their artistic quality and be sometimes inaccessible parts in conventional commerce.

PROJECTIONS

For six days will be screened daily an average of three films great cinematic value, they have the critical acclaim and received outstanding awards at other festivals.

HONORARY AWARD

In its fifth year the IBAFF deliver the honorary award for Portuguese Cinematheque National Museum of Cinema, by diffusion of the cinematic arts and conservation of masterpieces of cinema.

Founded in 1950 by Felix Manuel Ribeiro, became an autonomous institution in 1980.

That same year he opened his own theater and began his daily schedule of screenings, but burned in April 1981.

OPEN FESTIVAL

The IBAFF want to count again this year, with the participation of the citizens themselves, a key part in the development of the Festival.

It also opened the fourth consecutive year a call for cultural volunteer thinking younger, so that participants will gain practical knowledge about different areas and will be directly responsible for the organization and management of the Festival.

It is expected that more than 100 volunteers collaborate in eleven departments: literature, photography, advertising distribution, customer service, organization, department and ushers, guest assistance, accreditation, media and communication, production, and audiovisual communication.

YOUNG IBAFF

Committed to the promotion of film culture among teens, about a thousand secondary school students will see five shorts in what is termed as IBAFF YOUNG.

It is a way of spreading work among young people who share the values ​​of cultural diversity, tolerance and respect for the opinions of others.

The aim is to bring the Festival to them and contribute to media literacy so necessary for a critical understanding of film culture.
