The Museum Ramon Gaya increases its heritage with the donation of three oil paintings (07/02/2014)

The Mayor, Miguel Angel House, this morning received the donation of three oil paintings by Ramón Gaya, from today, become part of the heritage of the Museum of the great painter.

There are three large works Urmeneta provided by Maria Garcia and laid down in the hall bearing the name of the writer María Zambrano, great painting valedora Gaya religious and mythological subjects, and with whom the artist kept for many years a close friendship.

The paintings are large three oils:

- The Samaritan, 1960 Canvas 115 x 148 cm

- Ecstasy of St. Peter, 1958 Canvas 119 x 97 cm

- Indian in the Louvre, 1958, canvas 115 x 146 cm

At the ceremony were present, besides the Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, Councillor for Culture, Rafael Gomez, a representative of the donor family, José María Urmeneta, the widow of Ramón Gaya, Isabel Verdejo, and the museum director, Manuel Fernández-Delgado.
