The city theaters celebrate Christmas with a double family theater programming (29/11/2013)

The program is in line with the European tradition of commemorating these dates with the representation of the universal stories of children's literature.

Nearly 30,000 spectators will enjoy the 60 sessions of the cycle, which offers special discounts for the unemployed, large families, students and pensioners.

For the first time take place simultaneously in the two municipal theaters in the city.

The City and Cajamurcia Foundation, the festival "Christmas Cajamurcia" have prepared a theater program aimed at children and families, collecting the European tradition of representing dates in these tales of universal children's literature.

Between December 20 and January 4, about 30,000 spectators will attend the 60 performances of works Sleeping Beauty and The Wizard of Oz, at the Romea Theatre and Circus Murcia Theatre, respectively, making the city during more than two weeks in a center of cultural and tourist attraction, which also bring significant economic incentives and dynamics in the areas of trade and hospitality.

This has been said today the Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, and Cajamurcia Foundation Manager, Pascual Martínez, in presenting children's theater program at Christmas, this time, has two new features: simultaneously holding performances in Murcia two theaters and the premiere of two works created especially for the occasion.

The Romea Theatre will stage the child's play Sleeping Beauty, the Brothers Grimm, in free version and under the direction of Lorenzo Piriz-Carbonel, produced by Txalo Productions.

Furthermore, on Lyman Frank Baum text, by Fulgencio Martinez Lax versioning and the Teatro Circo Murcia, child represent musical was The Wizard of Oz, directed by César Oliva Bernal and produced by Nacho Vilar Productions.

Later, during the 2014 season, both works will tour various scenarios of the main Spanish cities.

Special discounts and solidarity actions

Unemployed, students, large families, pensioners, groups, etc..

will benefit from special discounts ranging between 15% and 30%.

In addition, those who purchase one of the shows and want to go to another may do so with a special discount of 20%.

Discounts are not cumulative.

Tickets -10, 12 and 15 € - can be purchased, either at the box office either theaters, and www.cajamurcia.es, www.ticketmaster.es, FNAC, Carrefour, Falcon Travel and outlets the usual ticketmaster network.

Years and in the framework of their solidarity with the disadvantaged, Cajamurcia Foundation, with the City of Murcia, will provide free access to the show Sleeping Beauty (in the Romea Theatre) to different groups, for their special characteristics, could not buy tickets.

Associations such as The Children Center Baden, Lower Residence Sant'Angelo, Motherhouse of the Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate, New Horizon or Association for the Integration of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (PEEM) have enjoyed in the past of this solidarity.

Furthermore, for the first time in a children's Christmas program, it will offer a feature especially on 26 Dec in Murcia Circus Theater in The Wizard of Oz, with simultaneous sign language translation to allow they can enjoy the work of hearing children.
