The University of Murcia honors Concha Lavella (26/11/2013)

The Faculty of Education dedicates its official week this year

The theater of the Merced campus will from now on the name of the professor Concha Lavella, linked to the field of theater and the University of Murcia since the late 60s.

Furthermore, the Faculty of Education devoted to the figure of this teacher his Education Week IX, with the title of Theatre and Education, to be held on Thursday November 28.

The first part of the tribute will be held in the Board of Degrees of the Faculty of Education.

Starts tomorrow Wednesday at 10 am, and will continue at 11 with a panel discussion moderated by Joseph Belmonte in the various participating peers: César Oliva, Carmen Soto, Pilar and Pedro Guerrero Candela.

Concha Lavella began his teaching experience in 1979 in the School of Teacher Training EGB University of Murcia.

Concha Lavella began his relationship with the theater as an actress, as a high school student.

Shortly later, as a student at the University of Murcia, linked to the University Theatre, University of Murcia, thus beginning a relationship that lasted, with some parentheses for four decades.

In the 70s he took part in various theatrical productions TU University of Murcia, almost all under the direction of César Oliva, including "The Dance of Death," about anonymous text, "Lament for the Death of Ignacio Sanchez Mejias, Garcia Lorca, "The Fernando" on texts by José Arias, Angel García Pintado and others, or "The sale of the hanging", Domingo Miras.

After a assistantship in Paris, Lavella began his college career as a French teacher at the University of Murcia, again incorporating theatrical activities through the Aula Theatre, University of Murcia.

His level of involvement in that classroom would grow over the next years, in which the name of the University of Murcia, through theatrical productions performed by the Theatre and, in particular Andres Claramonte stable company acquired global recognition, becoming invited to many of the most important international festivals in cities in American, European and African.

In 1994 he was appointed Director of the Theatre Group, in charge during the following years of the cultural policy of the University of Murcia in this area.

Lavella organized or sponsored numerous courses, workshops and seminars related to the theater, as well as numerous events and festivals.

Under his direction were conducted at the University of Murcia a total of three international biennials six-seven National Festivals Festivals International University Theatre based at the University of Murcia.
