Terraces neighborhood of San Juan will have the same elements shaded area (22/11/2013)

The Councillor for Urban Quality, Ana Martínez Vidal, visited the San Juan accompanied by the president of the District Board, Isabel Monreal, and Secretary of Hostemur, Laura Mateo, in addition to residents and businesses in the area to check the site occupied by the terraces of bars and restaurants area.

This visit has been made towards the implementation of the new Special Plan Occupation of the Road, which includes both the limitation in some cases of occupation, and the uniformity of elements shaded area, whose term ends on December 1 .

Many locals have requested the change tents, but will be impossible to install until after the Christmas season by the lack of availability from suppliers.

In these cases, the Department will request order forms and inspections postponed until early this year.

The Plan, which affects seven central squares of the city lie within cataloged as a Cultural, has been successfully introduced in the squares of Belluga, Apostles, Las Flores and Santa Catalina environments, which have been replaced canvases in 95% of cases, as well as in Santo Domingo, which have been replaced in three local awnings.

The City Council, being aware of the current economic situation and the importance of the hospitality industry as a generator of jobs, has developed this Plan reclaiming 50% of the annual fee for occupation of public roads and agreeing each measures referred to therein with local affected.
