The bird shows Terra Natura Murcia grows with the introduction of a pair of military macaws (15/11/2013)

The sample exotic bird and animal nature park Terra Natura Murcia has increased with the introduction of a new pair of military macaw (Ara militaris).

The experts have built complex a male and a female of the species to try that in a while reproducing in captivity.

These macaws are considered a vulnerable species due to its small population on natural ecosystems.

Curiously, this species is known for being one of the largest parrots in South America and also be one of the three largest parrot species in the world.

In fact, these exotic birds can exceed meter wingspan even despite its light weight which reaches as much kilo.

Thor and Zoe, as they call the two new tenants of the park, known as its facility that is located in the water park area.

The pair of birds shares his enclosure with other exotic birds like Amazons, cloroptera, roses and turacos parrots.

This is the first time the resort gets a pair of military macaws.

At the park, the experts will have made an analytical coprological parasite to confirm that their health was fair and avoid possible contagion to other birds in case they had some type of parasitic problem.

After confirming that the analysis has been negative and that both copies are in perfect condition have been transferred to its enclosure with other birds.

The process of adaptation of Thor and Zoe is occurring gradually, but steadily.

The two macaws are learning, little by little, their carers and gaining more confidence as the hours pass.

One of the most striking qualities of these birds is the mix of colors in shades of green, red, brown, white and blue that is seen in their plumage.
