Bolivia technicians know the waste management and recycling in Murcia (24/10/2013)

A group of experts from Bolivia to participate in UN-Habitat project for a better urban future, visit these days the municipality for waste management and recycling that takes place in Murcia.

Murcia City Council participates in this project advising on waste management, composting and technical training of operators Emsa company.

Two technicians from the municipality of Cochabamba (Bolivia) are responsible for knowing the work being done in Murcia.

This tour is organized from the Department of Equality Policy and Development Cooperation and the Department of Street Cleaning and Waste Management.

The agenda is participating in a workshop that discloses the structure of solid waste management in the city, visiting the parks of machinery, check CIP in town and villages, and plant tour Cañada Hermosa composting.

The city of Murcia is involved in this project with the City of Bilbao to develop in Cochabamba (Bolivia) a system of water treatment plants, and waste management and recycling.

The Department of Development Cooperation of the City of Murcia is responsible for the project management and recycling, and water treatment Bilbao.

This initiative has the support of the Spanish Agency of International Cooperation for Development (AECID), aims to provide technical assistance and even instruments and digital technology (software) so that it can develop in Cochabamba a treatment plant wastewater recycling and rainwater , currently mixed and flow into rivers and natural water courses within the city causing pollution and waste collection, sorting, recycling, treatment and management.

Murcia has experience in this type of project because the Department participated in an initiative by Ecuador to launch a tourism consortium in the province of Chimborazo (Ecuador), which is an area inhabited by indigenous communities rich in natural resources.

This project was part of Municipia initiative, a program of the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation (AECID), the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), the Confederation of Funds for Cooperation and Solidarity (CONFOCOS) and the Ministry of Public Administration (MAP).
