The Mayor House's new book presents Clemente Garcia 'Mayors of Murcia 1939/2011' (15/10/2013)

Mayor House highlights the value and opportunity of this contribution completes the work of Cano Benavente on Mayors from 1820-1939.

The work has the incentive to include the testimony, in person, in the past Mayors of the city.

The Mayor of Murcia, Miguel Ángel Cámara, presided this afternoon presenting the work of Clemente Garcia Garcia Mayors of Murcia 1939/2011, a valuable contribution to the history of the municipality to supplement Ediles First time series that have governed this Consistory in the last century.

The event, which was held in the Hall of City Hall, was presented by Professor of History, Francisco Chacon.

Mayor House has highlighted García's work represents a continuation, for years expected, the splendid work that started investigative journalist Jose Cano Benavente, entitled Mayors of Murcia.

Collected in two volumes Benavente Mayors from 1820-1939.

This third volume completes García Clemente former mayors relationship to the present, forming a new tool, precision, rigor and great value to researchers Murcia.

Alongside the academic impact of the work, the book will appeal to all citizens, given that offers numerous unpublished data and events, as well as a proven literature is based on the study of Murcia Consistory Chapter Acts.

Another feature of the work that adds value to the research conducted by Clemente Garcia are the testimonies of the past Mayors of the city that, in first person, tell the future of their respective municipalities, including Antonio Bódalo, Jose Mendez and current Mayor, Miguel Angel House.

Regarding José María Aroca, now deceased, the work also includes autobiographical notes were provided by his wife and children.

Clemente Garcia, PhD in Law and Fellow of the Royal Law and Jurisprudence, has been mayor of Murcia and Secretary General of the Regional Confederation of Business Organizations (CROEM).

His career has been recognized with the Gold Medal of the Region of Murcia, and CECLOR CROEM, plus other leading business organizations distinctions.

He is the author of several books on the Spanish Transition and other matters referred to Jurisprudence and Law.
