The City Council renewed its commitment to disabled entities Township (13/10/2013)

The Governing Board of the City of Murcia has given the green light this week to a total of eight cooperation agreements with various associations and federations working in the area of ​​disability in the municipality of Murcia.

The total amount of subsidies totaling 52,000 euros.

The collaboration that will continue to provide the city of Murcia is going to be done with the following associations, federations and foundations:

- New Horizon Association of Murcia.

Since its inception has launched various initiatives aimed at developing cultural programs of leisure time to enable the development of social skills, increased personal autonomy and greater integration into the environment from these guys.

For this new agreement will involve the collaboration of the Municipality of Murcia for the implementation of a program of activities that includes the following actions: Family Support, Family Respite, Volunteer Training, Cultural Programme of Leisure and Recreation, Life Promotion Independent, Manipulative Workshops, Training Workshops, Participation Party Traditions and other timely, Sports Activities and Body Language.

- Deaf Federation of the Region of Murcia.

FESORMU is a non-profit organization founded in 1994 to represent the interests of the associations of deaf people and their families.

The prime aim is to promote the autonomy and independence of this group, removing communication barriers to which they are subjected and promote their access to employment training and equal opportunities as other citizens.

Annually serves an estimated 200 people who use sign language in the municipality of Murcia, as well as indirect users.

The profile of users and users that are served are deaf or hearing impaired and deaf-blind people who require support means oral communication.

This new agreement includes the collaboration of the Municipality of Murcia on a program for the development of the Autonomy of the Deaf in the Municipality of Murcia

- Association for the Integration of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities, PEEM, whose support will go to the project "Housing tutored for people with intellectual disabilities."

The intended purpose of this action is to implement and available to people with mental disabilities who request and their families, the resources (human and material), so they can start an approach, training and learning to a model home independent family, preventive and integrated in the community, in order to promote social inclusion, promote standardization, individualization pursue mentally disabled person or their right to be addressed so as to address their individual needs and their personal differences and increase the quality of life of the people involved.

- Aid Foundation, Training and Integration of the Disabled, AFIM.

Nonprofit entity responsible for serving the group of people at risk of social marginalization in terms of basic needs such as hygiene, food, leisure time or work integration, depending on the degree of dependence and impaired user.

To cope with this reality launched in 2000 a day center for disabled Psychics Social Marginalization situation, assuming the first center of its kind in our region.

Since its inception, the city of Murcia has provided technical and financial support to cooperate in the initiation and operation of this resource.

This year hopes to continue working with this entity with the signing of a new agreement.

- Parents and Guardians Association of Mentally Handicapped ASPAPROS.

It is a social institution nonprofit, which is responsible for foster care, rehabilitation and protective custody mentally disabled as well as to improve their family and social integration through education and employment training, work and leisure , while fostering relationships between family members through family respite programs.

Currently tutelage Occupational Center, located in Molina de Segura, which caters to students aged 18 to 56 years, affected in varying degrees by this type of disability.

This year will feature the collaboration of the Municipality of Murcia for the development of a Disabled Program Psychic Integration in Social Life.

- Murcia Association of Parents and Children with Spina Bifida.

Since 2005, the project has developed AMUPHEB "Delivery Service and Support to Families with children affected by Spina Bifida."

The overall objective is to provide direct care and support and comprehensive at home, the dependent person and his family, preventing crises and / or damage and recovery education in healthy living habits (personal hygiene, exercise, food, leisure time ...) and skills within the real possibilities of the person, to facilitate and ensure autonomy in their usual way of life, facilitating integration and active participation in society.

A year will have the support of the City of Murcia.

- Federation of Organizations for Persons with Intellectual Disability and Cerebral Palsy FEAPS-Murcia.

This organization was established in 1982 to provide a quality service to the community of people with intellectual disabilities.

It currently consists of 26 associations that serve a total of 2,703 people with intellectual disabilities and cerebral palsy, mostly in the municipality of Murcia.

Through these entities are managed care, education, occupation and employment, and develop programs of leisure and recreation, personal and social empowerment of those affected, promoting volunteerism, respite care, etc..

The mission of this federation is thus improve the quality of life of people with some form of intellectual impairment and their families from the various activities carried out from 32 centers owned and family integration in the school, at work and in society.

This year will be assisted the City of Murcia for the development of the Twelve Days of Family.

- Murcia Regional Hemophilia Association.

This organization aims for encouraging and promoting social awareness regarding this disability and support those affected, to carry the antihemophilic factor deficiency and their families through providing services and conducting activities training, information, support and fellowship.

For this year Murciase City Council has approved a financial contribution to finance a work plan that includes the following actions: Psychosocial Intervention and Internal and External Management Association, IX Conference for Affected with Inhibitor Andersen, XXIV Hemophilia Training Days aimed at children between 8 and 12, XX XLII National Assembly and National Symposium of Hemophilia Medical-Social, Prevention and Improved Functionality Hemophilia Articulate and Maintenance Headquarters.
