The University of Murcia increased to 108,000 euros aid for needy students (04/10/2013)

The University of Murcia has increased to 108,000 euros the amount allocated to try to alleviate the situation of economically disadvantaged students so that they are not forced to leave school as a result of the crisis and regulatory changes.

During the meeting of the Governing Council of the institution, held today in the building of the Rector, the Vice President for Student and Employment, Maribel Sanchez-Mora, has indicated that the call for an amount of 80,000 euros released a few months binds now approved in the amount of 28,000 euros.

With this new game, he added, is able to address many of the applications that could not be met in the first round, but still will need to get another 47,000 euros so that no student is left without the help they need to continue their teachings.

The Vice President also noted that it has been recommended to students to avoid being forced to repeal tuition because they can not pay, who register only loans they create will be able to overcome.

The rector, José Antonio Cobacho, said that "we have a clear mission of trying to deal with all requests, which rise to 650", for which they make arrangements with agencies and organizations to obtain more funds.

Furthermore, the Governing Council, at the proposal of the Vice President for Studies, Concepción Palacios, has also approved the increase in the supply of places in university masters in 75, bringing the total offered amount to 250.
