The IU-Greens councilor in the city of Murcia, José Ignacio Tornel, today called on the mayor of Sports, Miguel Cascales a "clear policy" on the use of sports halls in schools.
Tornel has made this request after collecting complaints of Parents Associations (AMPAS) on the right to use these flags to mark extracurricular sports activities organized in their centers.
"The reality AMPAS found is that, in addition to taking charge of extracurricular activities, must fight for access to facilities originally designed for preferential use of schools," he explained.
The council also highlighted some situations that hinder the transparent management of these pavilions.
"It must be clear who the competition to grant the use of these flags: the municipal boards or directly from the Department of Sports".
It has also indicated that the timing of use has been halved in recent years, limited to end at 15 pm.
Considered also a need to clearly know what criteria the council states to respect or terminate the right of AMPAS schools the use and enjoyment of these facilities.
"It is unfortunate that the preferred use for schools diluting go over time, through action or inaction of the council, rather than supporting families from the departments of Education and Sports to organize activities outside school hours are as more fruitful as possible, to benefit the school and its environment and of minors. "
In his opinion, "it is necessary to use standard these pavilions that has the preferred user feedback: schools and families, and so the current difficulties would be solved and unequivocally support the work of the AMPAS" .
Tornel has announced that its municipal group will ask the head of Sports by accurate, adapted to the municipal level, currently governing the use of these flags.
