More than 6,500 people participate in the activities proposed by NGO Cooperation to promote the town and teach values (27/08/2013)

More than 6,500 people participated in the first six months of the year in the activities offered by the Department of Equality Policy and Development Cooperation and NGOs in the municipality, within the Development Educating program.

The Councillor for Development Cooperation, Alicia Waterman, explained that this initiative is to hold monthly events, exhibitions, conferences, documentaries, educational and awareness talks, etc., with the presence of NGOs and taking as theme days indicated and the Millennium Development Goals.

Each month is devoted to a theme.

Educating developing launched for the first time in 2012 and is a success due to the high participation of schools, Centers for Women and other associations and organizations.

During the first six months of this year have organized the following activities:

-January.

Month dedicated to peace, I call the Drawing and Writing Contest School, involving 400 students at CEIP Jesus and Mary, CEIP Our Lady of Cortes and Jose Rubio Gomaríz CEIP.

-February.

Dedicated to peace, non-violence and education, with the celebration in the garden of the embankment of a day of exhibition with the Armed Forces, and the participation of 1,035 children.

In addition, the FADE ONG'D gave a talk at IES Miguel Espinosa.

-March.

Dedicated to water.

About 3,200 people registered for the race solidarity Drops Niger, organized by UNICEF and attended schools Angel Zapata, Cristo del Valle, Federico de Arce, Sacred Heart (Zeneta), Doe Penafiel, The Grove, James the Greater, Mariano Baquero Goyal, Antonio Diaz, Fajado Saavedra, The Basilica, Francisco Cobacho, Juan Carlos I and John XXIII (Monteagudo).

Also organized the race Running With you, in the garden of the Malecon, on the occasion of the World Day of People with Down Syndrome.

-April.

Murcia Fire II celebrated their charity race to benefit the Foundation Vicente Ferrer.

For its part, the Latin Art ONG'D launched its campaign to distribute school aid bonds 16 100 euros for educational material for low-income families.

During April, Doctors Without Borders was responsible for exhibitions, lectures, virtual activities and the installation of a house in Santo Domingo to publicize their work.

-May.

The ONG'D Blue in Action organized a Championship MTB Spain of Security Forces to raise funds for its project to improve the eye health of the people of Togo.

Red Cross gave a talk about the right to health in school Nebrija and Oxfam Intermon ONG'D celebrated World Fair Trade Day with a information booth in Santo Domingo and a talk at the IES Stables.

-June.

Dedicated to the environment.

The EWB ONG'D explained his work and his project in Guatemala in school Nebrija.

The activities will resume next month with the cooperating week, held from 23 to 29 September.
