Over 150 young unemployed learn a new trade in the municipal workshops (22/08/2013)

Students learn electronics, plumbing, hairdressing and beauty, welding, mechanical and kitchen, among other specialties, and perform internships in the municipality.

These are the goals that the month of November marked the 152 young Murcia as part of the Vocational Training Program through various workshops aimed, firstly, students over 16 and under 21 who have not obtained the Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education.

The workshops scheduled by the Department of Employment, Trade and Enterprise, led by José María Tortosa, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, will run until next October and focus on electricity and electronics, welding and metal buildings, hotels and tourism, hair and beauty, business and marketing, kitchen, facilities and maintenance, plumbing and transport and vehicle maintenance.

The ratio of professional profile is 15 students.

The program lasts for one academic year (nine months), of which about one month (150 hours) is dedicated to conducting labor practices in workplaces.

The teaching begins in November and ends in July.

The City of Murcia began offering these programs in 1992 and since then have taught 2,204 155 professional profiles alumni / ae.

From the classroom to the company

The job is not limited to local classrooms workshops.

To carry out the module in workplace practices, which lasts 150 hours and takes place in the last quarter of the course, the city of Murcia this year has signed 29 cooperation agreements and renewed 56 existing with 85 companies and organizations the municipality of Murcia, related professional sectors professional profiles that are taught in the program.

102 alumni / ae are currently performing these practices, which will end in late July.

Start of new course

In addition, from September will begin a new Initial Vocational Training course with 12 programs with 10 different professional profiles.

To pursue these studies have been pre-registered and 219 alumni / ae, of which 72 are girls and 147 boys.

The workshops will be taught are: Auxiliary Operations and Communications Facilities Electrical, Auxiliary Operations Electrical Network Installation, Welding and Auxiliary Operations and Tecnoplástica Metal Constructions, Kitchen Auxiliary Services, Auxiliary Services Hairdressing, Aesthetics Auxiliary Services, Operations Plumbing-Air conditioning, Auxiliary Operations Vehicle Maintenance, Services Trade and Warehouse Assistants and Auxiliary Services Building Maintenance.
