The City incorporates 112 new packaging containers in the city (17/08/2013)

The City of Murcia, through Cespa, has built a total of 112 containers of containers in the municipality of Murcia, placing 90% of these in different districts of the municipality.

This will get further facilitate citizens the possibility of recycling in a comfortable and easily increase by 10% packaging containers placed in the entire municipality.

Since 2000 it has grown from 4,102,943 kilos of selective collecting a total of 16,877,718 kilos in 2012.

As for the number of containers, in 2005 there were 2,407 separate containers, compared to 3,781 that currently exist.

With these new additions, the City continues to bring even more to Murcia collection, reducing the number of inhabitants per container, according to ECOEMBES.

The mean of Murcia is 384 inhabitants per container of paper, while the Spanish average stands at 453 people per container of paper.

Facts savings per year

- A ton of paper are 7,000 newspapers and three cubic meters of wood that are 13 trees.

In 2012, no longer cut nearly 73,822 trees to print newspapers 39,750,000 (nearly 40 million newspapers).

- A ton of used glass bottles saves 130 liters of fuel, so that in 2012 we have saved 939,708 liters of fuel (almost one million liters).

- When you recycle a plastic bottle save the energy needed to maintain a light bulb for 6 hours.

- Plastics are made from petroleum, to recycle - Two tons of plastic used saves a ton of crude oil and reduce emissions of greenhouse gases and waste generated in the process.
