The Mayor, Miguel Angel House, today expressed regret over the death of the sculptor Miguel Llamas, who Murcia "will keep in our memory forever through his work".
Chamber recalled the great artistic and personal worth Llamas, whose sculptures can be seen in different places in the city and villages.
Among them, the Memorial Burial of the Sardine, opened in 2007 in the Segura river passing through Murcia, between the Old Bridge and the Gateway Miguel Caballero, and across from City Hall.
But this is not the only work that the sculptor-natural Almeria Vélez-Rubio left in Murcia.
One of the most recent was his work on the occasion of the centenary of the College of Nursing, which since 2010 can be seen in the access to the Hospital Reina Sofía, along with Genesis, inaugurated in Espinardo five years earlier.
Two separate tributes to the head of Torres Carnival and Tuna, in San Basilio, are other monuments that bear the stamp of author Miguel Llamas.
Throughout his career participated in solo and group exhibitions.
Although always considered self Flames attended the School of Arts and Crafts in Murcia and worked in the sculpture workshop of Joseph plans.
