The Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, propose to the full council next week's awarding the Gold Medal of the City Bar Association in Murcia, an institution which this year celebrates the 175th anniversary of its creation.
Miguel Angel House has stressed that the College has more than fulfilled the objectives and public recognition that mark in its foundation, among which include legal defense and legal assistance of Murcia, the impetus to the development of justice and defense the free exercise of the profession in Murcia.
The Mayor added that, since 1838, the College has been committed to the custody and guardianship of Murcia lawyers who established its first office in the historic San Antonio Street.
It had that place, whose rent took the city of Murcia, with a hearing room, two offices for judges, other board room and a room for the concierge.
After the adaptation of the old Palace of Audience Almudí as, in 1883, the College moved to those units where college headquarters would remain until 1975, when he was transferred to the new Courthouse Round Garay.
Finally, in 1994, inaugurated its current home, on the streets of Glory.
Miguel Angel House also propose to Full Council the granting of this important recognition to the achievements of the institution, among which are the San Raimundo de Peñafort awards, which reach their twenty-eighth edition, support and dissemination of works Legal and magazine recognized quality and dedication to the Legal Aid of their members.
