The City of Murcia, through the Department of Employment, Trade and Enterprise, led by José María Tortosa, is participating in a European pilot project funded by the European Commission, DG Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion on the social responsibility (CSR).
This project, called LOIEs (Lessons and Options for an Integrated European Approach to CSR) aims to encourage SMEs in the introduction and implementation of the principles and practices of CSR encouraging dialogue between them and non-profit entities, with legislative support and commitment of public institutions as well as compare and exchange experiences between different EU countries.
The project consists of three members from each participating country, Spain, Italy and Bulgaria.
In each of the participating countries, involved a public entity, a non-profit organization and a company, that, aided by experts in CSR, discuss how their organizations have implemented these principles, and to exchange good practices including .
Murcia entities are: the Association of Community Development Institute, Don Consultants Company, Ltd., and the city of Murcia.
LOIEs The project started in March 2013 and completed in August 2014.
We have developed a self-assessment tool for the implementation of Social Responsibility in each company.
For implementation of the project have been carried out:
Information seminars for companies on CSR principles, and guidelines of ISO 26000 exchange successful experiences between a company and a nonprofit entity under the supervision of experts in CSR study visits to countries of the partners involved in the project to develop and test a model of collaboration that can be transferred to the context of all the participating countries and the rest of the EU.
In June 2013, took place in Turin (Italy) the first study visit.
In the month of November 2013 was held in Murcia a week of work and company visits, attended by Italian and Bulgarian partners participating in the project.
