129 monitors and 30 volunteers work is summer schools organized social services for about 2,000 children of Murcia (18/07/2013)

Social Services of the City of Murcia, directed by María del Carmen Pelegrin, have as one of its targets for Children and Adolescents organize Summer Schools.

This year, schools are under 1 to July 19, and are mainly aimed at children in different neighborhoods and districts of the municipality of Murcia, which is being operated throughout the year in continuation, in summer, to this process with those found in social disadvantage disadvantaged backgrounds, thereby improving the process of socialization and integration, this will have reserved 30% of seats.

Pelegrin visited this morning summer schools and Zarandona Santiago El Mayor, in which more than 150 children.

This morning saw the celebration of the festivals of end of year two summer schools.

This year coincides with the 20th anniversary of the European Year of Citizens, established in the Maastricht Treaty of November 1, 1993, the focus of the summer school is "We are Citizens", conducting a series of activities such as:

- Cordate flags

- Competition on Europe (anthem, currency, language, capital ...)

- Sign European summer schools.

- Preparation of beads with European flags.

- Construction of models of neighborhood / hamlet

- Construction of a totem that serves as a central element in the assemblies.

- Election of the anthem, flag and dance summer school.

- Road safety education, bicycle and pedestrian focused.

- Environmental activities, such as energy saving measure, consumption meter away.

- Activities of body language, theater and gymkhanas.

All these activities allow children to participate in an extensive program of recreational, sports and educational, offering the opportunity to: Get new experience and experiences, make new friends and interact with their peers and learn other leisure

All summer schools have a pool day a week, an outing to the beach and two cultural or recreational outings.

Summer Schools are free.

At the same time, from the Municipal Social Services seeks to promote the participation of groups, associations, organizations and volunteer work in the neighborhoods and districts of the town, at this time of year, I subsidizing collaborating in 4 schools summer (City Colony of Jesus and Mary, James and Zaraiche volunteer, volunteer James the Greater, Ampa Codorniu Carolina).

Recipients:

Township children between 6 and 12 years.

Some summer schools are offered squares for ages 4 and 5 years, (Stables, San Andres, Santiago El Mayor), in five other schools will be for teens ages 13 to 16 years.

The number of summer schools this year amounted to 41, of which 38 are organized by the Department of Social Welfare and Health, of these 10 in coordination / collaboration with culture (El Carmen, St. Pius X, The Esparragal, Zarandona, Sangonera La Seca, Guadalupe Viejo Javalí, Nonduermas, the Rane, the Arboleja).

The three remaining in collaboration with associations and voluntary groups.

The total number of young carers is 1,959, of which 1801 are aged between 6 and 12 years and 73 for 4-5 years and 85 between 13 and 16 years.

Of the 41 summer schools, 29 are being conducted in villages and 12 in the urban area.

The schedule of summer schools is from 10.30 to 13.30 hours, summer schools organized volunteer groups usually schedule mornings and / or afternoons.

Seven children with disabilities participate in various summer schools, the scope of social services center Ciudad de Murcia (Ranero, St Andrew, James the Greater, La Paz / Vistabella, San Pio X).

También colaboran algunas Juntas Vecinales y de Distrito.

Dentro de las actividades de verano, tal y como se recoge en la actuación 3.3.1 del Programa Municipal de Infancia, se gestionan plazas de campamento de una semana de duración en el mes de julio, y primera quincena de agosto para aquellos menores que participan en programas de intervención y que carecen de recursos económicos u otras circunstancias que justifique la asistencia a dichos campamentos.

El número de plazas contratadas este verano asciende a 127, cuatro de estas plazas son para menores con discapacidad en el campamento que organiza Leyva.

El presupuesto de actividades de verano 2013, tanto de escuelas de verano como de campamentos, asciende a 145.855 euros.
