The Family Business Barometer of the Region of Murcia for the first half of 2013 has seen a turnaround in Spanish economies, Murcia and industry, achieving the best results since 2010 that began the series.
The 12.8% of the companies surveyed have improved their economic situation in the semester and rises to 22% of companies expect to improve in the coming months.
The barometer, produced by the Mare Nostrum Family Business Chair at the University of Murcia Amefmur in collaboration with the Association of Family Business Murciana reflects a confidence in improving the situation of the Spanish economy for the coming months, with 23 , 9% of companies thought to evolve favorably.
Employers base this confidence in a better fit between expectations and results.
For the third consecutive semester increase exports and 18% of family firms experience an increase in these.
The greatest rise occurs in half turnover: 20% sales increases up to 30% and expects to improve its figures for the next semester.
Other positive findings are sustained increase in the number of workers, almost 7 in 10 companies maintain or increase the number of employees, and that pushes the Business Confidence Index Family Business.
Major minus, 85% of companies said the weak demand as a factor limiting business activity, followed by financial difficulties (48%) and increased competitive pressure (45%).
In this respect, family businesses remain concerned about the revival of demand and consumption, and access to finance.
The presentation ceremony of the barometer, held today at the building of convalescence, was attended by the Vice President for Student and Employment, Maribel Sanchez-Mora, the vice president of Amefmur, Isabel Sanchez, the director of the Chair, Angel Luis Meroño, and director Levante territorial Cajamurcia-BMN, Juan Antonio Campillo.
