The International Folklore Festival in the Mediterranean begins Monday with the opening of several exhibitions (13/07/2013)

The International Folklore Festival in the Mediterranean, declared of regional tourist interest, advances its date of execution and will take place from 15 to 19 July 2013 the forty-sixth edition.

It is the longest running festival of all festivals that take place not only in the city of Murcia and Murcia but throughout the Spanish state.

The International Folklore Festival in the Mediterranean acts as an integrator between the different sensitivities of folklore, based solely on the quality factor for selecting the participating groups.

Also, the festival aims to approach the public presenting folklore so easy and enjoyable, while people bring to their field, trying to achieve a symbiosis with the city.

It also aims to combine the character of modernity to tradition and give, content and philosophy, greater cultural content and study and research.

Grupo Folklorico Virgen de la Vega (Murcia), Geghard Folk Dance Ensemble (Armenia), Grup de Danses de Moncada (Valencia), Folk Group City of Cartagena (Murcia), chloric Fol Storici Grouping contrade Sbandieratori delle di Cori (Italy) , Zulu Folklore Dance Ensemble (South Africa), Chorus and Dance Association Mazantini (Ciudad Real - Spain), Chorus and Dance Group Christ of Mercy (Murcia), Folk Dance Company "Strong Breed Panama" (Panama), Folk Dance CAJAVEC Ensemble (Bosnia Herzegovina) and Songs and Dances of Murcia Regional Association "Francisco Salzillo" (Murcia).

The festival can be structured in different blocks: choirs and dance groups, choirs and dance groups, exhibitions, studies, presentations and performances of traditional folklore.

Monday, July 15

Opening of the exhibition of manners Corpus Murcia, in the Museum Ramon Gaya, and Course of traditional dances from seven years.

Opening of the exhibition This blue sea.

Antonio Martinez Mengual, at the Museum of the City.

20.30 h.

Opening of the exhibition of The Auroros of the Region of Murcia.

21.30 h.

The musical heritage of the auroros Murcia and liturgical cycles, traditional activity in the Plaza de la Cruz.

Tuesday, July 16

Course of traditional dances from 7 years in the Museum Ramon Gaya.

City Parade of folklore groups participating in the 46 International Folklore Festival in the Mediterranean.

From the Square of Spain to Plaza del Romea.

At the end of the parade, to 20.30, in the Plaza del Romea, will be the act of Lighting the Torch of Friendship and hoisting of flags.

24 h.

Garden City Museum.

Trasnochando.

Gloriana, or music.

Freedom festive profuse pace.

Readings of poems and literary texts by different authors.

Wednesday, July 17
